We hope. We dream. Then one day we come face to face with that which we have been hoping for and dreaming of for so long and we must chose. Perhaps I can empathize with the Magi, waiting for the sign that He had come. Then one night a new star rises and they were faced with a choice... one which would challenge and change them. To follow the star or to remain where they had been so long waiting...
The Lord scattered the seeds in my heart to go and serve as a foreign missionary during my first and second year of nursing. Slowly those seeds have taken root and are soon to bear fruit as I have been called to serve in Ecuador as a missionary nurse on a small mission base called Santa Maria del Fiat. I will be serving as a volunteer with Catholic Medical Mission Board for a year's time. I have decided to begin this blog in anticipation for the Mission. But also for my family and friends, and whoever else happens to stumble upon it, to share in the mission. I ask most especially for your support in prayer, for His Strenght and Grace as I am weak.
Indeed I feel called to this mission to learn to love, be humble, and to follow in Our Lady's foot steps as the perfect disciple in saying

Hi Sara: Just wanted you to know how much I enjoyed your blog. May God bless you, keep you safe and watch over you, as you are helping others. What a wonderful experience. You are in our thoughts.

Sara...
Your mom and dad sent me a card for Easter. One with which had your blog site, so I excitedly grabbed my computer and began reading about your experiences on your mission. I couldn't help but look at your picture and read your thoughts and a stream of tears ran from my eyes. Your desire inspires me. To think of the many times you spoke of how much you wanted to serve the Lord through mission work...the choice became your reality and now you are running through jungles, sliding through mud, and following where God is leading you. Know how much I admire your zeal to spread God's love through your service. I pray that God would continue to use your hands, and loving heart to make those around you more faithful.
Love always...
Kimberly
